This is a ceiling-mounted speaker model from ORIGIN ACOUSTICS that emphasizes a slim finish. It performs exceptionally well when there is limited clearance behind the gypsum board. Currently, the lineup has been expanded to include two lines: one with an integrated backcan and one without. The integrated backcan model is particularly ideal for installation in existing buildings. When constructing new buildings, if a backcan is to be included for soundproofing and protection of the unit, it needs to be installed before the board is applied. Since this model has an integrated backcan, there is no need to remove the board for that purpose. It can be completed in one step with just a round hole of the outer diameter of the unit. This backcan reduces sound transmission to adjacent rooms by up to 9 dB, making it a suitable choice if sound transmission to the room above is a concern. This model is based on Origin Acoustics' high-grade Director Collection and is designed to support high impedance. Speakers of this class can be used in high-grade home theaters and music listening environments in commercial facilities. High impedance allows for the series connection of speakers from an amplifier, enabling many speakers to be driven by a single amplifier. However, high impedance has historically resulted in a trade-off in sound quality, making it difficult to supply products that excel in audio quality in this category. Now, a new option has been added. The separation of the main unit and the mounting ring in the Director Collection allows for installation to be completed without tools, achieving a "75% labor reduction." This not only reduces the product's unit price but also improves efficiency in the installation process for commercial facilities that require a large number of speakers. Additionally, it inherits waterproof performance with an IPX6 rating, making it suitable for installation in eaves exposed to rain. When used outdoors, combining it with wall-mounted or garden-embedded models can create a wonderful music environment.

This is a proposal for "minimization" from ORIGIN ACOUSTICS, which continues to focus on eliminating the presence of speakers, such as bezel-less grills for ceiling-mounted speakers. We offer a 3-inch model with a diameter of 78mm and a 5-inch model with a diameter of 150mm. These "recessed lighting size" speakers are perfect for hallways, kitchens, pantries, and bathrooms where there is interest in ceiling-mounted speakers but hesitation about installing standard sizes. This brand consistently receives high ratings at the AV EXPO and CEDIA in the United States. With high clarity, they are ideal for background music and surround sound applications. ■Balancing budget and needs The E60 is an entry-level model from Origin Acoustics that comes in a set of six units. When multiple ceiling-mounted speakers are needed on-site, and there is a request from the customer for ceiling-mounted speakers but the budget is tight, we hope you will consider this option. Since it comes in a set of six, it can be used for three rooms' ceiling installations or freely configured for a single room with a 5-channel ceiling setup. If there is a possibility of yield, please also consider the higher-end Producer Collection. ■Design considering future upgrades The ceiling cutout (required hole diameter) is 203mm or 222mm. This is aligned with the cutouts of Origin Acoustics' Producer Collection (203mm) and Director Collection (222mm), meaning that when upgrading to a higher model in the future, there will be no need to modify the ceiling holes.
